Quick & Easy Bun Recipe

Yes, I am still here~~just really busy! :) I had several comments and emails requesting that I post the recipe for the buns I pictured a few posts back. So, I thought I would oblige by posting it today!

Farmchick's Quick & EZ Buns

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water (110° to 115°)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
3 to 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Directions: In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the egg, salt and enough flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 3-5 minutes. Do not let rise. Divide into 8 pieces; shape each into a ball. Place 3 in. apart on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes. Bake at 425° for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.

Okay--as you know you can divide this how you want to...if you want smaller buns divide into 12 pieces. I usually make 8 buns out of each portion but I double or triple the recipe because 8 buns just doesn't do it for us-especially when we are out in the field.

I hope you all have a happy weekend. This summer is just going WAY to fast for me. I will be posting again soon--I have many things to share with you all! :)

If you stop by let me know by leaving a comment so I can return the visit. If you don't have a blog I love an email or something so I can thank you for
stopping by! :0)

  17. I just jotted down your pork recipe. I'm going to get that going tonight! I love the farm pics too. I'm a wanna be farm girl. We started raising chickens and goats on our three acre "farmette". I also have a nice vege garden. It's all trial and error for me 'cause I grew up a townie. I'll keep following your posts for the great recipes and insights to farming.

  27. A friend once introduced me to a fantastic idea of making cheese burger buns. These buns look like they might do the trick. I am super excited to see a recipe that does not require a lot of rising and kneading. I will let you know how they turn out.

    Thanks.
