Rainy days..........................

It has been raining............and raining..............and raining. My farmer has not been in the field for days. We are having a lot of flooding problems here in our great state. It rained sooo hard yesterday that water started pouring into our basement. The ground is just soooo saturated. We got it fixed up before the carpet got too wet. People are losing their homes due to the flood so our water problem was very small compared to what others are facing.
I spent my day in the kitchen trying to keep my mind off of the rain.

  1. I feel your pain! It has seriously been raining here in OH for almost 2 months straight.

Our barn has flooded, our sump pump has been replaced and the ground is beyond saturated. We are still waiting to get in our gardens and cut parts of the grass!

  2. We've finally had a couple of days with little rain and hot temps here in Michigan. Now maybe the ground will dry up enough here for the farmers to get into their fields. And for us to get our rig onto job sites without immediately sinking (we drill water wells). After being so terribly slow, we finally have jobs...we just can't do anything till the ground dries up a bit.

  3. Don't you wish we could all share in the wealth. For the past few months we have had so much rain that I often wished we could bottle it up and transport it do the drought areas.
Now it seems the weather has changed once again. We aren't getting much rain, the temps. are in the 90's and we now need to water our (late) gardens.
Hope it dries up soon in your neck of the woods and you can begin planting.

  7. Hi! Thank your stopping by my place :) I enjoyed my visit here this morning too. What fun it must be to live on a real farm. And sunflowers .... LOVE EM! Just yesterday my daughter said she wished could see a sunflower farm - & now I've "met" someone that actually lives on one :) Wait till I tell her.

  8. It amazes me how one part of the US can be flooding and another be in drought conditions (like here). I hope it stops raining soon where you are and maybe those rain clouds can drift over this way.

  13. We have not had any flooding in my area but the lakes and streams are sure right up there where one more drop and then we will be in trouble. I felt like I should park a boat outside my door instead of my car with all the rain we have had.
Please share your recipe for the peach bars. They look absolutely yummy. :)
I hope you dry out soon.
