Babies!!!

Not me....silly!!! Our cows. I still call them my babies though...as we love to go out and watch the new born calves and their mommas. I love to see them out frolicking in the sun...running and kicking their feet in mid air. So CUTE!!

Here you see a few of the girls awaiting their turn to get pregnancy tested. I wonder if they are feeling nervous and excited to find out if they are going to have a baby? ;)

Here one gal is waiting for the vet {see him there} to give her the news. "Positive--due late May!!" She doesn't look too excited...I think she just needs to let the good news soak in. :)

Many people have their calves born in March but we chose to have ours in May when it is a little warmer. May cannot come soon enough for me this year. May signifies many things....the end of the school year, new babies, planting my gardens.....sigh....please May....come quickly!

I am so glad for a day off from school....good to keep my babies at home. ;) We are gonna have a nice day....My Farmer and Jr Farmer will be heading off later on this evening to meet the Minnesota Twins Caravan....they already have a baseball to get autographed!! The rest of us are going to head to town and go out to eat....we all should have a nice time. :)

  6. :) So glad I'm not the only one that LOVES baby calves! We changed our calving to the Fall because sometimes Spring is too mucky here...but, there's a few in the herd that aren't on that schedule...so in a month or so I'm going to get three new babies :) (Hoping by then the weather is better!) I am always inspired by YOU...and just the amazing ways God is at work ALL. THE. TIME! Hope you have a week filled with Sweet blessings! P.S. And...a great dinner out !

May is your month too? Thats usually when we go back to work in the woods as the snow should be out in the Black Hills...

  9. It will be different at our farm this year because we sold the bulk of our cattle herd this fall. All the range cows 250 in total. So there will not be as many calves running around this spring.
