So, would you like to know what's for supper in Farmchick's kitchen tonight???? Let me tell ya....it's something yummy....;)
Tasty Farmhouse Cube Steak Sandwich
2-3 pounds of cube steak...sliced thinly
2 onions, sliced
1 envelope of dry Italian salad dressing mix
1 envelope of dry ranch salad dressing mix (I have one large container so 3 TB = an envelope)
1 envelope of dry brown gravy mix
1 can of mushrooms
1-2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
2 cups water
French Rolls
-------
Brown meat and then add onions. Add worchestershire sauce. Cook for a few minutes.Put meat, onions, mushrooms, all three envelopes and water
into crockpot. Cook on low for 4-5 hours.
I like to spray the buns with Parkay butter spray
and toast in the oven. It's your choice...I just happen
to like nice toasty buns! ;)
Put meat mixture on bun and serve a small bowl

ReplyDeleteYummy! I am definitely going to make this. Minus the mushrooms though! :) LOL It's a texture thing. And thanks for posting this! I have been in a cooking slump, still, and this looks totally do-able!
ReplyDeleteCube steak was something my mom used to fix...it's been ages since I have bought any. This looks simple and delicious...perfect for our chilly autumn weather.

GOD bless.

ReplyDeleteI like your blog. Living in the city now, I like to escape to your farm every day. I know it's hard to do (I've been a farmwife/mom too), but please try to post more often.
You're blog and pictures touch people's lives probably more than you realize.
Love it! And what's best is that those are almost all things I always have on hand. And that's important since I'm 40 miles from the closest grocery store and 65 miles from Wal-mart.
ReplyDeleteWe never have a shortage of beef. It pays to be a rancher! Lol.
Thanks for sharing!
mmmm! that sure does look good! I'm losing weight.. so being very careful about what I eat.
ReplyDeletewhat are your kids being for halloween? or are they too old now?

OH Yummy Yummy!!! I'm going to try that!! Minus the mushrooms though LOL!! Sounds and looks soo good!! You guys have had a heck of a time this year with planting and harvesting.... Hope you get it all done soon!!
ReplyDeleteI love tour blog site. I do have a question for you. Is there a big difference in real farm raised beef and chicken as opposed to what I buy in rhe grocery store. In my opinion the meats that I buy do have the same taste that I remember as a child. Chicken does not taste like chicken ! I live in Missouri in the city. We are looking for a reputable farm so that we can purchase REAL meat. Thanks
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I love any recipe that uses a crockpot. Mine gets a lot of work and this will be something special. Andy doesn't have many teeth so this would be perfect to share with him too. Thanks, sweet friend, for always sharing wonderful and tummy warming recipes. You rock! xxoo
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting that great beef recipe! We just put another steer in our freezer and I needed a new beef recipe! We hvae 2 huge freezers filled with beef and some pork! Can't wait to try the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting something different and this just might be it. I just have to pick up a few things and it will probably be Wed. or Thurs. when we have it for dinner. Hubby loves cube steak but this will be a new twist from the country style steak. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHey Girlie...I have been having the hardest time trying to leave comments....my computer keeps freezing up! This sandwich looks awesome. I need to take those to the fairs with us!! I hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteBeef...that's what my husband always thinks needs to be for dinner :D He will LOVE this recipe..thanks so much for sharing! I so pray the weather gives you just what you need for a few days so harvest can be behind you! May your Wednesday be filled with LOTS of GOOD things..Sweet blessings!
