Splendiferous *Pins* Saturday

We just enjoyed a wonderful anniversary breakfast in bed prepared by our loving children...a beautiful handmade card and last but not least.."Keeper of the Stars" by Tracy Byrd was playing in the background...{one of our wedding songs}We love our thoughtful and loving children.

In case you didn't know.....I love Pinterest...okay...I am totally addicted to Pinterest.  So, I thought...you know if you are going to stay up late at night pinning things...you may as well be a good and kind soul and share them on your blog.  ;)  So, Saturdays will be my day for sharing my favorite "pins" of the week.  {splendiferous pins saturday} Now, just to let you know....I have not tried any of the recipes so I cannot guarantee that they are good...just wanted to share that with you!  I am going to make the scalloped potato recipe tomorrow morning before church...so if my family approves the recipe...I will be sharing it with you.

Farm Photo Friday

Is it Friday already???  Yup...I am running behind again folks...I just can't get all that I want done with this blog...but I will succeed!  {just not today} 

We can cross soybeans off of our list of "Things to harvest" .  So far now we have combined our:
winter wheat
spring wheat
canola
soybeans

Now we just have corn and sunflowers and our harvest will be done!  Don't get me wrong...I love harvest...but it sure feels good to get done too.  Just in time for our anniversary...which is tomorrow.  We will be able to go out for a nice supper!!  Yay!!! <3 p="p">*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Hello Wednesday

Beautiful sunrise....I took this picture on my front porch as I looked across the prairie. These pictures were taken on Monday...and the post was originally titled...Hello MONDAY.....but blogger had other ideas. {My pictures would not load.} Finally I had to quit and start preparing lunches for the field and then get into my combine. We are still harvesting soybeans... corn and sunflowers to follow.

Garden bounty ideas

Is your house overflowing with bounty from your garden?   I thought I would give you a few new ideas to use it up. 

The first one is for Sweet Corn Chowder....I posted it several years ago.  It is really tasty so I thought I would share it again for those of you that are over-run with sweet corn.

Ultimate Stuffed Zuchinni is for those of you that have zuchinni coming out of your ears!  We all know that zuchinni is always abundent. 

Tomato and Herb Bruschetta is so good.  I have a lot of tomatoes ripening now and I am going to whip up a batch of this of these days.

Good bye summer..........................

I am mourning summer right now...don't mind me while I feel sorry for myself. 
No matter how much I WISH...I cannot get June back...
Don't get me wrong....I do LOVE fall....just not ready for it yet. 
I want the less structured days of summer to be among us.
I dread the fridgid cold days on the prairie...those days will be with us before we know it.
