Custardy French Toast :)

Hello! I have had the worst time with Blogger lately....now it would not let me upload my pictures! It is just so frustrating.....really wants to make you scream you know?? Not only have I had the blogger probs my memory card for my camera does not work now either so until I get a new one I have to use my phone to take the pictures....they are not as good and clear but I guess it will have to do for today!

This French Toast with home made creamy syrup is soooo good....I am sure your family will love it. Okay, okay...it's not low-calorie nor is it particulary "healthy" for you....but it's GOOD! ;)

I made this the other morning for my farmer....after many, many days of being gone all day spraying he was finally home. I decided to treat him to a nice breakfast of Custardy French Toast and sausage. He is still recuperating from his accident and gets very sore at times. It's gonna be slow healing until he can give his body a rest.

CUSTARDY FRENCH TOAST

WITH CREAMY CINNAMON SYRUP

6 eggs, beaten

3/4 cup whipping cream

3/4 cup milk

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 loaf French bread

2 tablespoons butter, divided

In a large shallow bowl, whisk eggs, cream, milk, sugar, cinnamon until well blended. Dip slices of bread into egg mixture. Melt one tablespoon butter on a non-stick griddle over medium heat. Cook for 4 minutes on each side, until golden and firm to the touch. Repeat with remaining bread.

CREAMY CINNAMON SYRUP

1/4 cup water

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 cup whipping cream

Combine and mix the water, sugar and cinnamon in a heavy saucepan. Heat on medium heat....slowly add the cream. Cook slowly until the mixture thickens slightly. Serve French Toast with Creamy Cinnamon Syrup.....SO GOOD!

My family thinks that this french toast kind of tastes like cinnamon rolls! The syrup is so creamy and carmel-ly I hope you all love and I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

I really tried to post my recipe.....

Hello friends.....I know I promised I would post a recipe on Saturday but I could not get on blogger! I tried and tried and then finally just gave up! I don't have time to do it today but I wanted to just get on here quick to let you know what was going on! I am going to post the new recipe....in a day or so. Right now I have to get out and help fix fence. So, I leave you with another pretty farm photo. Hope your week is going well.....come back in a day or so to see my new yummy recipe. WOW......things sure can get crazy on the farm!

Okay.....I really am back now---really I am! ;) I sure have missed visiting everyone and have missed your visits too. Life here on the farm has been so busy. We are still struggling to get the last of our crops planted, spraying our crops and fixing fence. To top it off Mr. Farmer had a slight accident and dislocated his shoulder and bruised a few ribs. The good thing is it could have been a lot worse....the bad thing....in order to heal he would have to quit working....and right now he just can't. It's hard to watch him work when he is dealing with the pain so I do what I can to help him....but there are just some things I am not tough enough to do! Oh, the picture above is one I took when out in our pasture.

I have not fallen off the face of the earth...........

Dear friends.....I am still here! Things have been so crazy around here I don't even know where to begin. I can tell you that I should be back to my regular posting. I have so many things to share with you all.

It has been very wet here in our area and our spring seeding is going very slowly. We finally are done with wheat and flax but still have sunflowers, soybeans and canola to go. In between the field work and rains we have had sprinklings of events around here such as our daughter graduting from 8th grade, one son graduating from preschool, and our other son playing baseball. YES.......we have been busy....my tires are always rolling.

After a rainy yesterday the sun is shining and the birds are really tweeting away. I hope to have a productive day.
