The gentle momma cow..........

I snapped this picture when we were out in the pasture. This momma cow was intent on watching her calf walk towards the water to get a drink. Isn't she just so sweet? :)

Cows are amongst the gentlest of breathing creatures; none show more passionate tenderness to their young when deprived of them; and, in short, I am not ashamed to profess a deep love for these quiet creatures.
~Thomas De Quincey

I sincerely hope that each of you are having a wonderful week. Check back on Saturday for a new recipe! :) Thank you for stopping by. :)

You can see she has her eye on that baby, She's a real cute MAMMA COW.
It's funny I call my cows into the barn everyday by calling "Come on Mammas cows & babys come on in" it echos down our hollow thru the pasture & woods, Some day I will get to adding pictures to my blog and one I need to add is them all coming a running when I call. I love the Moo Moos!

Love your photos, and yes cows are such good moms, and the instinct kicks in for those first cow/calves. I marvel at how they know what to do first time calving.

Well, cows may be gentle and compassionate toward their young, but every time I get around them, they chase me.
I love them anyway!
