A new BEEF recipe for you! :)

I know, I know....it took me long enough to post something new! We have been busy around here. We finally got done harvesting our wheat. The weather just will not cooperate - if is isn't raining then it's super cloudy out and COLD! We still have flax, corn and sunflowers to harvest....we are hoping for warm, sunny and breezy fall days to dry everything!

So, would you like to know what's for supper in Farmchick's kitchen tonight???? Let me tell ya....it's something yummy....;)

Tasty Farmhouse Cube Steak Sandwich

2-3 pounds of cube steak...sliced thinly

2 onions, sliced

1 envelope of dry Italian salad dressing mix

1 envelope of dry ranch salad dressing mix (I have one large container so 3 TB = an envelope)

1 envelope of dry brown gravy mix

1 can of mushrooms

1-2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce

2 cups water

French Rolls

Brown meat and then add onions. Add worchestershire sauce. Cook for a few minutes.

Put meat, onions, mushrooms, all three envelopes and water

into crockpot. Cook on low for 4-5 hours.

I like to spray the buns with Parkay butter spray

and toast in the oven. It's your choice...I just happen

to like nice toasty buns! ;)

Put meat mixture on bun and serve a small bowl

of the juice for dipping.

Well, the craftshow in the barn turned our awesome. It was a lot of fun. A little background about the barn craftshow. My sister-in-law (married to my farmer's brother) puts on this craftshow - for the last 4-5 falls. They bought the barn from my father - in -law a few years back. You see, when Mr. Farmer and I got married my brother-in-law and his family were already living in the same farm yard as my in-laws so we decided that we would live ACROSS the road from them. We had to start from scratch and make our own yard--at the time it was just a field. It has taken awhile to get from field to yard with a house and shop but we are getting there! Anyway, it was 32 degrees the day of the show---but that didn't stop the people from coming! We had over one thousand people show up. The people that get cold are the vendors (like me) but I had a propane heater this year and let me tell you--it was a life saver! Because of this heater I was able to enjoy chatting with people -- otherwise I would have been cold and miserable after sitting in the freezing temps for that long. Not only did I have a good time visiting with people I also sold a lot of stuff....so I am happy! The scents of the candles I made for the show are my biggest fall sellers: Hot Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Home for the Holidays, Candy Corn, Sugar Cookie, Harvest Spice, Pears & Berries, Black Cherry, Black Raspberry Vanilla and Spiced Cranberry. Harvest Bundt Cake Recipe!!

Hello everyone

I have been very busy here with our kids and their activities and getting ready for the big craft show this Saturday. We have not been in the field since one week ago when it started to rain. We only had about 100 acres of wheat left to combine but we just couldn't get it done before the rain. When it dries and the sun comes out we will be able to finish the wheat and move on to flax, corn and finally sunflowers.

Many people requested the Harvest Bundt Cake

recipe so I am here to please! :) This cake really does make your house smell wonderful!!!

1 1/2 c sugar

1/2 c brown sugar, packed

2 t cinnamon

2 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

1/4 t nutmeg

1/4 t ground ginger

1 c canola oil

1/2 t vanilla extract

4 eggs

2 c all-purpose flour

15 oz can pumpkin

1 apple. cored, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup chopped nuts--I used walnuts but pecans would be great too!

Mix first 10 ingredients--add 1/2 cup of flour at a time. Blend pumpkin, fold in apples and nuts. Pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 70 minutes. Cool about 20 minutes in the pan; remove and complete cooling on a wire rack. Frost when cool.

Fall Harvest Bundt Cake FROSTING

2 t vanilla

1/2 c butter, softened

8 oz. package cream cheese, softened (I used 1/3 fat type

3 1/2 c powdered sugar

Blend vanilla, butter and cram cheese together; add enough powdered sugarn until desired spreading consistency is achieved! That's it!! Yummy!!!
