First of all I want to thank all of you for your sweet words and thoughts about my sweet Kricket. I still miss her every minute but I know she lived a very happy life. So, thank you all so much.....your kind words really helped!♥♥♥♥♥
As I stated before I had many people email me requesting the recipe. Well here it is!
Piroshki Dough
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon yeast
♥♥♥♥
2 cups warm water
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup oil
1/8 cup sugar
1/2 tablespoon salt
6 cups flour
♥♥♥♥♥
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water--proof for 10 minutes.
♥♥♥♥♥
Next, mix water, egg, butter, oil.
Stir in the yeast mixture and half of the flour.
I do this in my Kitchen Aid with the dough hook.
Keep adding the rest of the flour until the dough
leaves the sides of the bowl.
Knead until smooth and elastic.
♥♥♥♥♥
Put dough in large bowl.
(this enamal ware bowl is my Grandma's old bowl)

♥♥♥♥♥
Allow to rise until doubled!!
♥♥♥♥♥
Pinch off dough...whatever size you like.
♥♥♥♥♥
Flatten the dough into a circle on a cutting board.
♥♥♥♥♥
Add filling, fold dough in half over filling-

pinch the edges tightly to seal.
You can leave it like this
or you can fold the corners under to make sure
that they stay closed!
♥♥♥♥♥
Place pinched side down on a greased baking sheet.
Cover and let rise.
Bake until golden--15-20 minutes!
Now for the fillings.
You can brown hamburger, onion, salt and pepper--sometimes I also add some cream of mushroom soup to that for moisture.
or
You can also do the hamburger, onion, salt, pepper and sauerkraut.
or
Slice apples just like you would for apple pie. Add some lemon juice, sugar and cinnamon.
That's it!
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments too! If
you have any questions just leave them in the comment section.
Have a great day!!
