Happy New Year to you all!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

I was planning on sharing this recipe

with you all earlier in the week

but you know....things don't always

go as expected!!!

I made this dip for our little family

party we are having here this

evening at home. We were

invited to another families home

but I have a cold and just don't

feel like venturing out in the snow!!

HOT PIZZA DIP

INGREDIENTS
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped green onion
breadsticks

----------------------

In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Italian seasoning and garlic powder;

Combine cheddar and mozzerella cheeses.

I made my own breadsticks....you can go HERE

for the recipe. I didn't twist them this time though!

It's almost Christmas!

I love this picture. This is what I see when I walk into our living room. Something about seeing the reflection of our tree in the mirror above the mantel just makes me smile. I totally love it. It makes me feel calm and happy. Sometimes I just stand and look at it....for minutes at a time until my kids will say "what ARE you doing Mom?" This is a start of a very busy week finishing up with last minute baking, shopping and parties. I know I need to stop and remember the reason for the season.

Have a wonderful weekend....and my Chocolate Caramels!!

Well once again we are in for more frigid weather--an artic blast is headed our way! We have had several inches of snow today so far and more is expected to hit us. We are surely going to have a white Christmas! (just wish it was a bit warmer!!)

Today I made a batch of Chocolate Carmels. YUMMY!!! I enjoy making them but I do NOT enjoy wrapping each of them! I usually use wax paper but this year I decided to try Press -n- Seal. They wrapped up easily - now for the test - to see how easily they UNWRAP!!! If you would like the recipe keep reading!!

Farmchick's Chocolate Caramels

2 cups white sugar

1 1/2 cups white Karo syrup

1 cup butter

1 cup cream

Mix ingredients. Bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes. Then slowly add

1 cup cream

3 squares unsweetened baking chocolate

Boil until mixture reaches 260 degrees - hard boil stage.

When it reaches 260 degrees add

one teaspoon vanilla

one cup nuts (optional)

Pour into medium sized, buttered pan.

Cool, cut and wrap!!!

Good luck on keeping everyone

Spritz Cookies, Visitors, Followers and Frigid Temps!!

Good morning everyone!!

We made SPRITZ COOKIES the other day. I always think they are so much fun to make.

It took me awhile a few years back to finally find a Spritz recipe that I thought tasted really good. I will now share that recipe with you.

FARMCHICK'S SPRITZ COOKIES

1 cup butter

3/4 cups sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon real vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

3 cups flour

Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg, vanilla and almond extracts. Add remaining ingredients. Place in cookie press and form desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees until desired color is achieved!!!

The main reason why I blog is because I have had SO much FUN meeting new people and making new friends. Some of you may have noticed that at the bottom of my blog I have several counters....I have the live feedjit, a daily counter and a counter that has my total visitors since August 2008. A lot of days my daily counter is surprisingly high..I am astonished sometimes of just how many people are on my blog in a day. I copied my counter the other night to show you how many people had been on that day. Here is is:

So 435 people had stopped in to visit that day but at the time that I took the picture only 30 people had left comments!! I would love to see more people leaving me comments so that I can get back to your blog and leave a comment. It just makes it so much more fun to read every one's comments...I look forward to it daily.

So, I thank you for stopping in and visiting our farm. It is very cold here. We just had a blizzard on Saturday and Sunday and now we are having to endure the frigid temps. Yesterday morning I took a picture of my computer screen...this is what it said:

Now in case you can't read it because it is rather blurry...it says -22 yes that is the actual temp and in smaller writing it says FEEL LIKE - 48!!! YUP--that's right the windchill is FORTY EIGHT BELOW ZERO!!! BBRRRRrrrrrrr.....that is miserably cold...and that makes it NO FUN to be outside in the lovely snow!!! IT is supposed to warm up to zero which seems like we are living in the banana belt after these temps!!!>

Marshmellow Pops

Hello~ HELLO~HELLO

It's been ages since I last posted

I know. I have been missing all

of you! I just wanted to post

really quick and let you know

that I will be around to visit

you soon. I just have not

been able to with all the

programs, our Christmas

openhouse, basketball games

and other things that come with

being a Mom! We still have two

programs to go and several

Christmas parties to attend.

I am so far behind on trimming

our house for Christmas but

I intend on tackling that

tomorrow. So far we have

one tree decorated....only

three more to go!!

I wanted to show you these

cute little pops I made for

our openhouse. I always

think it is fun to make a

few little extra things.

Okay, because I have had several comments on how to do this...I decided I should tell you all!

All you do is melt vanilla almond bark or white chocolate chips. Dip the marshmellows into the melted bark or chips--cover completely. Take them out and stick them on a skewer snowman style! You can then cover with mini m-n-m's, sprinkles, sugar or do the snowman--stick them in a jar in the freezer until the coating is hard. (just a few minutes) That's it!!!! Kids love 'em!!

Frosty Day......

It's a very frosty day today.....when I went out this morning it was only 20 degrees. Now, really that is not cold according to our standards here but we have to kind of EASE into it!! Soon 20 degrees will feel like we are in the banana belt compared to the frigid temps that will soon be hitting us!



This is what I saw when I went out to feed the cows this morning.

See their frosty coats? They don't seem to mind though...they were just waiting patiently for me to FEED them their breakfast!!

As you can see I changed to a Christmas template. Please be patient with me as I move things around. I am having a few problems for some reason. My last post movie is not working anymore so I may move it to my side bar. Also, my followers are not showing up. Anyone else having this problem?

Another busy week---Lil' Farmchick has a choir concert-she is in a group that you have to try out for and Jr. Farmer has his school Christmas program. This weekend we have our Christmas openhouse for the last time this year.
